As a Social Work Intern at Parigari Social Welfare Trust, you will actively support our operations across our old age home in Minjur and our outreach programs in rural villages. You will work directly with beneficiaries — elderly residents, orphaned children, and underserved communities — helping deliver care, education, and medical assistance.

This is a fieldwork-intensive internship ideal for students pursuing social work, psychology, public health, or social sciences, or for graduates who are passionate about humanitarian service.

• Assist in day-to-day operations of our old age home, ensuring the wellbeing and dignity of residents.
• Support coordination of free medical camps and eye surgery programs in rural villages.
• Help organise and facilitate free education sessions for destitute children.
• Conduct community outreach visits and document beneficiary stories and progress reports.
• Assist with fundraising events, donor communications, and volunteer coordination.
• Maintain case notes, attendance records, and field reports under supervisor guidance.
• Contribute to social media documentation — photography and short program write-ups.

• Students or recent graduates in Social Work (BSW/MSW), Psychology, Public Health, or related fields.
• Individuals with a genuine passion for community service and social welfare.
• Good communication skills in Tamil (required); English or Hindi preferred.
• Willingness to travel to field locations in and around Chennai.
• Ability to commit to at least 3 months, minimum 4 days per week.
• Emotionally resilient, empathetic, and team-oriented.

• Immersive grassroots experience across multiple social welfare programs.
• Direct mentorship from experienced NGO founders and field staff.
• Official internship certificate and a strong professional reference letter.
• Reimbursement of travel expenses for all field visits.
• Potential stipend for exceptional interns (subject to funding availability).
